Credits and usage
StoreScout meters some heavy actions with credits so bulk work stays within your plan. This page explains behaviour — what spends credits, who allocates them, and that browsing does not spend. Public monthly prices and included credits are on Plans and pricing.
What credits are for
Section titled “What credits are for”Depending on configuration, credits apply to actions such as:
| Action | Credit idea (user-facing) |
|---|---|
| Find stores | Spend for stores you save from a licensed area search (estimate shown before start) |
| Enrich / refresh | Separate spend to refresh evidence on a selection |
Browsing Stores, filtering, opening profiles, and map pan/zoom do not consume Find/Enrich credits.
Where you see balances
Section titled “Where you see balances”- Header or workspace chrome may show remaining allowance for your user or account (when enabled).
- Find stores dialog shows planning estimate vs available credits before you confirm.
- Users & Roles (admins): per-user monthly allocations and account-level limits.
- If a run is blocked for credits, the product should explain why; admins can raise allocations or you can request more via the in-app credit request path when shown.
Viewers often cannot see or spend credits. That does not mean actions are free for other roles.
Who manages credits
Section titled “Who manages credits”| Who | Typically can |
|---|---|
| Customer admin | See team usage, set user monthly allocations (within account limit) |
| Analyst / sales rep | Spend against their allocation on allowed actions |
| StoreScout platform | Set account monthly limits (pilot / commercial agreement) |
Practical rules for pilots
Section titled “Practical rules for pilots”- Plan bulk work — enrich a shortlist, not every store by default.
- Coordinate as a team — two people finding the same area or enriching the same set wastes allowance.
- Watch failed runs — note failures; do not blindly retry huge selections.
- Ask before large runs — your StoreScout contact can advise on pilot scope.
- Request credits through the product or your admin when you hit a limit mid-campaign.
What we do not publish here
Section titled “What we do not publish here”- Unit rates, unpublished discounts, or contract formulas
- Internal cost models
